Bedbug Control

Bedbug Heat Treatment

Professional Bedbug Temperature
We choose to treat bed bugs with heat treatment for several reasons!

It is a green solution because it is non-toxic and does not require the use of chemicals.  Not only is it quick and reliable when treating bedbugs, often times the bedbugs can be eliminated in just one session.  Also, it is very affordable and hassle free because it does not require the removal of property or objects.

On the technical side, bed bug heat treatment is able to kill bedbugs at all phases, from egg to adult by targeting oderless dry heat into targeted locations to kill bedbugs.  This is often accomplished in just one session when using high intensity heating combined with special tools that allows the heat to penetrate deep cavities and walls in order to kill bed bugs.

Bedbug on human

Bedbugs are small parasitic insects who prefer to feed on human blood, especially at night when people are sleeping. Although they're not known to transmit serious diseases in North America, they can cause skin rashes, allergic reactions, and great emotional stress to occupants of infested homes.

Bedbugs are also among the most difficult insects to control, even for professional exterminators. Their small size and secretive habits allow them to hide in the tiniest cracks and crevices, their parasitic feeding mean that they don't readily ingest residual insecticides, and they have a knack for quickly developing resistance to insecticides.

In addition, bedbug control is a very thorough, detailed, meticulous process that requires an unusual degree of cooperation (read: "work") on the parts ofthe residents of infested homes and apartments. These insects are so small and so skilled at hiding that they can get into almost anything: bed frames, mattresses, upholstery, furnishings, picture frames, clothing, books -- you name it.

Bedbug elimination isn't the kind of job that a technician can do properly unless the homeowner or tenant also does their part. That's why we've prepared a useful pre-treatment checklist for our bedbug control customers. You must perform all of the preparations detailed in the checklist prior to our arriving to treat your home.

Canine Dog Inspection

This Due to a recent study by Richard Cooper (bedbugcentral.com) dogs accuracy is only 11-83% with an average of 43%. We chose to use Climb Ups and Nightwatch Traps because they are proven to be over 90% accurate.

Bedbug Nightwatch Inspections

bedbug system

"NightWatch performance has been tested to 99.98% chance of detection over a period of 7 days"" Dogs are about 80-95% acurate, making the nightwatch inspection more accurate than dogs. We do offer dog inspections to inspect large volume of rooms and apartments.

Chemical Bedbug Control

The use of insecticides is usually required for effective bedbug control. We use only EPA-registered insecticides that are properly labeled for bedbug control, and only use as much insecticide as is necessary for effective control. The exact products that we use vary depending on the job, and you will be informed of the products to be used prior to their being applied.

Because bedbug populations may develop resistance to certain insecticides, we strive to stay current and to choose only those products that are currently considered the most effective for bedbug eradication.

Mattress Encasements

Bedbug-Proof Mattress Encasement

We also usebedbug-proof mattress encasements as part of our comprehensive bedbug control program. Mattress encasements help reduce the need for insecticides and provide effective control of bedbugs that might be living in mattresses and box springs.

Mattress encasements also allow you to continue to use your mattress and box spring soon after treatment (you just put the sheets and bedding on over the encasements once the insecticide or steam has dried). Being able to keep using your existing mattresses can save you hundreds, or even thousands of dollars compared to the cost of replacing them, while still achieving effective bedbug extermination.

For effective bedbug control, you must leave the encasements on the mattresses and / or box springs for at least 30 days. But the encasements are very comfortable, so you may just want to leave them on permanently to provide protection against spills, stains, children's or pets' "accidents," and so forth.

We provide bedbug control to private homes, apartment buildings, motels, hotels, condominiums, shelters, and health-related facilities in Dutchess County, Ulster County, Orange County, Putnum County, and Columbia County in New York.
