Bedbugs are small parasitic insects who prefer to feed on human blood, especially at night when people are sleeping. Although they're not known to transmit serious diseases in North America, they can cause skin rashes, allergic reactions, and great emotional stress to occupants of infested homes.
Bedbugs are also among the most difficult insects to control, even for professional exterminators. Their small size and secretive habits allow them to hide in the tiniest cracks and crevices, their parasitic feeding mean that they don't readily ingest residual insecticides, and they have a knack for quickly developing resistance to insecticides.
In addition, bedbug control is a very thorough, detailed, meticulous process that requires an unusual degree of cooperation (read: "work") on the parts ofthe residents of infested homes and apartments. These insects are so small and so skilled at hiding that they can get into almost anything: bed frames, mattresses, upholstery, furnishings, picture frames, clothing, books -- you name it.
Bedbug elimination isn't the kind of job that a technician can do properly unless the homeowner or tenant also does their part. That's why we've prepared a useful pre-treatment checklist for our bedbug control customers. You must perform all of the preparations detailed in the checklist prior to our arriving to treat your home.
Bed Bug Treatment Preparation Checklist
Strip the bed(s) and launder all sheets, pillowcases, mattress pads,
and
blankets.
Have all clothing and fabrics laundered (hot wash / hot dryer cycle) or
dry-cleaned.
Discard cardboard boxes, shoeboxes, paper and plastic bags, old
newspapers, stacks of magazines, and similar items in all potentially
infested rooms.
Remove all candles, aerosol cans, old vinyl records, butter, crayons, make up, liquids and put them in the refrigerator or bathroom tub.
Unplug all electronics
IMPORTANT NOTES:
Dismantling of bed frames and other items will be performed as part of
the service program.

technician.
Canine Dog Inspection
This Due to a recent study by Richard Cooper
(bedbugcentral.com)
dogs accuracy is only 11-83% with an average of 43%. We chose to use
Climb Ups because they are proven to be over 90%
accurate.

Chemical Bedbug Control
The pesticide we use is determined on a case by case scenario. We will tell you which products we will use when we give estimate.
Mattress Encasements
We also usebedbug-proof mattress encasements as part of our comprehensive bedbug control program. Mattress encasements help reduce the need for insecticides and provide effective control of bedbugs that might be living in mattresses and box springs.
Mattress encasements also allow you to continue to use your mattress and box spring soon after treatment (you just put the sheets and bedding on over the encasements once the insecticide or steam has dried). Being able to keep using your existing mattresses can save you hundreds, or even thousands of dollars compared to the cost of replacing them, while still achieving effective bedbug extermination.
For effective bedbug control, you must leave the encasements on the mattresses and / or box springs for at least 30 days. But the encasements are very comfortable, so you may just want to leave them on permanently to provide protection against spills, stains, children's or pets' "accidents," and so forth.
