T.A.P. stands for "Thermal, Acoustical, and Pest Control," which are the three benefits of a unique insulation product that merges the benefits of natural cellulose insulation with natural borate insecticide. The result is T.A.P. Insulation -- an insulating product that saves energy (and lowers heating and cooling costs), helps block out unwanted noise, and helps prevent insect infestation.

Boric acid is a naturally-occurring, extremely low-toxicity insecticide that has been used for generations to treatsensitive areas like schools and hospitals. It has no odors (at least, none that humans can smell) and doesn't give off any toxic vapors. Boric acid is also highly stable in the environment.
