What is T.A.P.?

T.A.P. is the result of a revolutionary merger of two well-respected technologies—natural cellulose insulation and natural borate pesticides—creating Thermal, Acoustical & Pest Control Insulation. T.A.P. is the onlyinsulation that also provides pest control benefits.

The active ingredient in T.A.P. is boric acid, a naturally-occurring insecticide that has been used for generations in sensitive locationswhere minimal toxicity and maximum effectiveness are needed. It's a stomach poison, which means the insects must consume it either directly or indirectly (for example, when they get it on their feet and then groom themselves). Although deadly to insects, the boric acid in T.A.P. is classified in the lowest pesticide toxicity category. It has no fumes or odors and is suitable foruse around pets and people in even the most sensitive environments.

Unlike organic biological treatments, insects cannot build up a tolerance to the boric acid in T.A.P. It's also highly stable, so T.A.P. insulation never has to be re-treated. T.A.P. controls ants, cockroaches, silverfish, termites, and many other pests listed on the EPA-registered label.
